Canton Municipal Court, Ohio Warrant Search

A warrant search is an official method of inquiry available to members of the public seeking warrant information within a specific jurisdiction. As with other courts operating within Ohio's judicial system, judges and magistrates of the Canton Municipal Court retain the legal authority to issue warrants upon a determination of probable cause per RC 2935.08 and 2941.36.

Arrest, search, and bench warrants are the most common types, but public access often depends on a warrant's type and execution status.

Generally, active arrest and search warrants remain restricted until their execution and return to the issuing court. An exception applies to bench warrants issued in open court proceedings, such as warrants for failure to appear or for violation of probation, which are routinely updated on public case dockets despite their active status.
